At Coaching Desk (developed by Devapps Technology), we respect the privacy of educational institutions, coaching centers, administrators, teachers, and students. This Privacy Policy outlines our practices regarding data collection, local offline storage, and our integration with the Google Drive API for automated database backups.

Core Commitment: Coaching Desk is an offline-first desktop application. All student data, academic records, attendance history, and accounting entries are stored locally on your Windows computer. We do not transmit or store your institutional database on our company servers.

1. Information We Collect and Store

When you use the Coaching Desk Windows desktop software, the following information is managed strictly within your local computer's SQLite database:

  • Academic & Student Records: Student names, roll numbers, guardian contacts, batch enrollments, and attendance logs.
  • Financial & Fee Data: Tuition fee invoices, transaction logs, outstanding dues, and expense records.
  • Institute Configurations: Coaching center name, campus branch, contact coordinates, and logo images.

2. Google Drive API & Cloud Backup Integration

Coaching Desk offers an optional Cloud Backup feature that allows administrators to upload encrypted database archives to their own personal Google Drive account. To provide this functionality, our application requests the following Google OAuth 2.0 permission:

  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file — "See, edit, create, and delete only the specific Google Drive files you use with this app."
  • https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email — "View your email address to display the connected Google account inside the desktop app."

Strict Scope Limitations: Coaching Desk only creates and accesses backup files inside its own designated folder (e.g. CoachingDesk_Backups/). The application cannot view, read, modify, or delete any of your other personal files, photos, documents, or spreadsheets stored in your Google Drive.

3. Google User Data Limited Use Policy Compliance

Coaching Desk's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements:

  • No Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, rent, or trade your Google account tokens or Google Drive data to any third party, marketing network, or data broker.
  • No Human Inspection: No human (including our engineers or staff) has access to read or inspect your Google Drive backup data or files.
  • No AI Model Training: Google user data and backup contents are never used to train or fine-tune artificial intelligence or machine learning models.
  • Client-Side Encryption: All database snapshots are encrypted locally using AES-256 before being transmitted directly to Google Drive via HTTPS.

4. How to Disconnect and Revoke Access

You have full control over your Google connection at all times:

  • From Inside the App: Open Coaching Desk, navigate to Settings > Cloud Backup, and click "Disconnect Google Account". This immediately purges all stored tokens from your computer.
  • From Google Account Settings: You can revoke Coaching Desk's access at any time by visiting Google Account Security > Third-party apps.

5. Data Security

We implement rigorous security safeguards within the software architecture. OAuth authentication uses a local loopback listener on your desktop machine; tokens are securely saved in Windows Protected Storage (DPAPI/Secure Vault); and backups are secured with cryptographic hashes (SHA-256) to prevent tampering.

6. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements to the software or updates in regulatory standards. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
